Goju-Ryu karate is not 'aerobics' or 'weight training'. It is an 'Art' - an art which is extremely effective for self-defence. Anyone can learn basic self-defence techniques from a book. But learning techniques alone is not enough to defend oneself. Our training also involves learning about ourselves - how we set limits on what we think we can or can't do, and how we can overcome these limits. For our bodies to carry out effective defence techniques, we need also to be strong in our minds. Goju-Ryu karate training develops self-confidence, strength of mind, as well as the strength and stamina that grows with regular physical exercise.
Whatever you are hoping to gain from Goju-Ryu karate training, we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to one of our classes.
